Danish Bakery & Coffee Shop It’s hard to tell where the idea of the Danish Bakery first began, but ask anyone who’s spent time in Denmark, and they’ll tell you that you're never too far from a bakery. It’s just a part of daily life. When they moved to Wales in 1998, they very quickly felt at home, but they did miss the bread. Their love of bread started at home. Their grandfather (Far Far) - was a baker in central København, and so they were very used to tales of making bread, pastries and cake - and plenty of sampling too. It took a few years, but what was started as a dream slowly turned into a plan, and in November 2015, the dream finally became reality. Their first location opened in an old corner shop in Pontcanna. In January 2020, their adventure took on a new dimension with the opening of their second location in Penarth. Today, the journey continues, they still love meeting new and old faces every day, and proud to have been able to bring a little taste of Denmark to Wales.
